Shri Shardha Asthapan Trust

The Trust cares for the sanctum, conducts seva and the Pran Pratishtha tradition, and is rebuilding this Satya Yuga heritage for future generations.

Our Mission

Preserving a Satya Yuga Heritage

The Shri Shardha Asthapan Trust, Gund Gushi Kupwara, was formed to restore and protect this ancient Asthapan of Goddess Sharda, the oldest living shrine of the Goddess in Kashmir. The Trust led the 2019 reconstruction of the sanctum and, on 30 March 2025, conducted the Pran Pratishtha ceremony that consecrated a new idol of the Goddess after 36 years of silence.

Every contribution supports the upkeep of the temple premises, daily and festival seva, the protection of the sacred Shila and Ganesh Naag spring, and the Trust's continuing effort to bring this Satya Yuga Asthapan back to the centre of Kashmiri Pandit devotional life.
